Roz is CEO of Attentively, an award-winning cloud-based Engagement Marketing platform for causes and campaigns. Roz is also the co-Founder of Fission Strategy, a full-service digital agency that has helped over 250 top nonprofits “ignite social action for good”. Previously, Roz served as the Executive Director of the New Organizing Institute (NOI) – the premiere training institute for tech-enabled grassroots organizers. She currently serves on the board of The Turing School and the Chattahoochee Hills Charter School Foundation.

Roz has spoken at dozens of conferences about the power of technology and social media for empowering individuals and groups to make positive change in the world. She has won several awards for her work, including the 2009 Women’s Information Network “Young Women of Achievement” award and recognition from Planned Parenthood for the Feminist Majority’s trailblazing online campaign in support of women and girls in Afghanistan (2003). She’s was named one of the top 40 women in DC Tech, was a 2012 Campaigns and Elections Innovator, and a 2014 Stevie Award winner. Roz brings a background in PHP/MySQL, .NET/MSSQL, Ruby on Rails, and HTML/CSS/JS, as well as 10 years of technology training experience to bear in her role leading Attentively.

Cheryl Contee


Visionary and inspirational leader pioneering new ways to create global social change.

Cheryl Contee is the CEO and co-founder of Fission Strategy, which helps the world’s leading non-profits, foundations and social enterprises use the Internet in innovative ways to create change globally. She is also the co-founder of, which is a rising tech startup, specializing in cutting edge influencer marketing technology and #YesWeCode, which represents the movement to help over 100,000 low opportunity youth to become high quality coders.

She was also the co-founder of Jack and Jill Politics writing as “Jill Tubman” on the leading top black blog during the 2008 election cycle. Cheryl was named as an Affiliate of Harvard University’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society. Cheryl was included in the first The Root 100 list of established and emerging African-American leaders. Huffington Post listed her as one of the Top 27 Female Founders in Tech to Follow on Twitter in 2011, as did Black Enterprise. Fast Company named her one of their 2010 Most Influential Women in Tech. She has over 15 years of award-winning interactive expertise and previously served as Vice President and lead digital strategist for Fleishman-Hillard’s West Coast region in San Francisco. Cheryl was also named in The Influencers 50 in Campaigns and Elections magazine.

Cheryl has appeared in the Washington Post, New York Times, San Francisco Magazine, C-Span, Black Enterprise, BBC, Current TV, MSNBC and CNN, among other media appearances. She is also proud to serve on several boards and advisory committees including Netroots Nation, Focus100/Digital Undivided, Guttmacher Institute, Citizen Engagement Lab and serves as an ambassador for Social Venture Network (SVN). She received her B.A. from Yale University and has an International Executive M.B.A. from Georgetown University. In her spare time, Ms. Contee enjoys hiking, yoga, movies and tai chi sword.

Cindy Mottershead


Linux guru and Apache Spark enthusiast; using machine intelligence to make big data insights and analytics a reality.

Cindy is CTO of, a SaaS Social Intelligence and analytics solution provider and the global leader in non-profit, cause based engagement platforms. Previously, Cindy has been a lead technologist in startup companies leading to her co-founding one of the first distributed software companies in 1993. As CTO, she was responsible for ensuring the company’s technology strategy served its business strategy resulting in a robust client server, cross platform application. Cindy was a technical consultant for one of the first SaaS solution providers, creating a cloud based web application in the late 90’s. Cindy was partner and co-founder in several other software startups always providing the technical lead position.

Cindy has extensive experience developing scalable, secure, and solid applications that meet the business objectives required for a successful product. Cindy was responsible for architecting the communications layer in the first massively parallel supercomputer, for designing security in multiple web based applications, and for architecting numerous technology solutions for scalable, big data, and real time applications.

Cindy has proven experience leading technology teams in small, lean startups and in scaling the team. As a leader, Cindy keeps the big technology picture in her head and knows the architecture – what it does and what it is capable of doing on a macro and micro level. She is a mentor to the team members and enjoys creating team synergy which results in the team generating performance greater than the sum of the individual members.
